Timken Approved as Source to Repair Main Bearings for General Electric CF34-3 Engine

CANTON, Ohio, July 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Timken Company today
announced that its aerospace aftermarket solutions subsidiary,
Bearing Inspection, Inc., has been named by Cincinnati-based GE
Aircraft Engines as an approved source for the repair of bearings
for the CF34-3 aircraft engine. The approval covers all main-line
bearings for the CF34-3 engine, which is installed on Bombardier
Challenger business jets and CRJ100/200 regional jets.
Approximately 3,000 of these engines are in service today. (Logo:

approval specifically applies to all Level 1 and Level 2 bearing
refurbishment and repair. This includes cleaning, inspection,
lubrication, replacement of rolling elements, plating of components
and superfinishing of bearing raceway surfaces. "The CF34-3

expansion of the scope of our aerospace reconditioning programs as
we deliver increased value to global customers," said Drew Baker,
general manager in Timken's aerospace aftermarket group. "Airlines
and engine overhaul shops will clearly benefit from Timken's

repairs on the CF34-3 engine will be performed at Timken's Los
Alamitos, Calif., facility, an FAA approved repair station.
