large-bore seals and isolators is part of our strategy to bring a
more complete line of friction management products to the
industrial distribution channel," said Michael C. Arnold, president
of Timken's Industrial Group. "Customers have come to rely on
Timken's expertise in managing friction in a wide array of
applications, and we are continually providing new products and
services to help them improve their performance." Timken's
large-bore industrial seal line includes oil, split, lip, face-
type and external seals in large-bore sizes up to 90 inches.
Bearing isolators are available in standard, flangeless,
grease-purgeable, split pillow-block, step-shaft and vertical
styles. Timken is expanding the product line through an agreement
with Garlock Sealing Technologies, an EnPro Industries company
(NYSE:NPO). Timken will source its line of large-bore industrial
seals and bearing isolators from Garlock for the U.S. and Canadian
markets, and will work to expand the product line globally in 2007.
The agreement does not include mechanical seals. Terms were not
disclosed. In addition to its large-bore seal offering, Timken
currently sells small- bore seals, as well as metric and
high-temperature varieties. Timken also provides tools to ease
installation, deter seal and bearing damage and prevent premature
seal leakage. For more information on the company's complete line
