LONDON--AMEC PLC (AMEC.LN), the international engineering and
project management company, said Monday it has been appointed by
Talisman Energy (U.K.) Ltd. to provide brownfield engineering,
procurement, construction and commissioning services in support of
its U.K. brownfield topsides projects.
MAIN FACTS:
-AMEC will provide these services under a five-year 'call-off'
contract which will cover major capital projects.
-Value of the contract hasn't been announced.
-Contract has an option for a two-year extension and has already
started with the verification of the FEED [front end engineering
design] for the new bridge-linked platform brownfield scope and
upgrade of the existing Montrose Alpha platform.
-Multi-million pound Montrose brownfield services will be
delivered by a team from AMEC's Aberdeen offices, with about 200
onshore and offshore personnel at peak.
-Shares at 0835 GMT up 17 pence, or 1.63%, at 1061 pence valuing
the company at 3.17 billion pounds.
