WEA Western Asset Premier Bond Fund

Western Asset Premier Bond Fund (the “Fund”) (NYSE:WEA) today announced that it has set May 28, 2015 as the date for the Fund’s 2015 Annual Meeting of Shareholders (the “Annual Meeting”) at a time and location to be specified in the Fund’s proxy statement related to the Annual Meeting.

Because the meeting date for the Annual Meeting is more than 30 days before the anniversary of the Fund’s 2014 annual meeting of shareholders, according to the Fund’s Bylaws, shareholders who wish to propose one or more nominees for election as Trustees, or to make a proposal fixing the number of Trustees, must provide written notice to the Fund (including all required information) by March 11, 2015.

The Fund’s proxy statement for its 2014 annual meeting of shareholders stated that the Fund expected to hold the 2015 Annual Meeting in May and contained important information regarding submission deadlines applicable to other types of shareholder proposals for the Annual Meeting.

The proper submission of a shareholder proposal does not guarantee that it will be included in the Fund’s proxy materials or presented at a shareholder meeting. Shareholder proposals are subject to the requirements of applicable law and the Fund’s Declaration of Trust and Bylaws.

In connection with the Annual Meeting, the Fund will file with the Securities and Exchange Commission (the “SEC”) and furnish to the Company’s shareholders a proxy statement and other relevant documents.
