Volkswagen has paused production of four electric-vehicle models for three weeks because of a supply shortage.

The car maker said Thursday that production of electric motors made at the company's components plant in Kassel is limited, which will temporarily halt production of the Audi Q4 E-tron, Audi Q4 Sportback E-tron, Volkswagen ID.4 and Volkswagen ID.5.

The stoppage began Thursday, it said.
