AsiaBaseMetals Inc. ("AsiaBaseMetals" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:ABZ)
announces that Mr. Gerald Booth has tendered his resignation as a director of
the Company, effective immediately, in order to devote time to manage his other
commitments. Mr. Booth will continue to act as a consultant to the Company.

Company over the years and wish him all the best in the future." 


AsiaBaseMetals is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kenneth Collison as
a Director of the Company. 


Mr. Collison holds a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from the University of
Saskatchewan and a Masters of Engineering in Mining from the University of
Saskatchewan. Mr. Collison is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Ucore
Rare Metals Inc. Mr. Collison was the Chief Operating Officer of Blue Pearl
Mining/Thompson Creek Metals Company Inc. from 2005 to 2009, prior to becoming
the President of Collison Minecon Inc., a company providing consulting services
to the mining industry. Mr. Collison was part of a team that purchased Thomson
Creek Metals and built it into one of North America's premier molybdenum
producers. Mr. Collison previously held the positions of Vice President at
Crandon Mining Corporation, Rhinelander, Wisconsin (1994 -- 1996) and Vice
President/General Manager of Coeur Alaska (Alaskan subsidiary of Coeur d'Alene
Mines) (1996 -- 2000). He has extensive experience in operations as well as
exploration, permitting and preparation of feasibility studies. 


Mr. Khan states "I, together with the balance of the Board of Directors of
AsiaBaseMetals, welcome Ken Collison to the Board of the Company. Ken brings the
necessary experience and dedication to make significant contributions to the
success of the Company and to the building of shareholder value."
