BRL Bearclaw Capital Corp

Bearclaw Capital Corp. (TSX VENTURE:BRL) announces that, as a result of the
general economic downturn, and following consultations with third parties
concerning the exploration results and potential for the Company's Wakeham Basin
and James Bay mineral property interests, the Company has determined that
certain write-downs are required as of December 31, 2008. In particular, the
Company has determined that a write-down of $1,325,392 is required in connection
with its Wakeham Basin mineral property interests and associated deferred
exploration expenditures, and a write-down of $3,087,708 is required in
connection with its James Bay mineral property interests and associated deferred
exploration expenditures.
