Chapleau Drills High Grade Gold in Coringa, Brazil-3 m (56 to 59 m) of 65.77 g/t (1.92 oz/t) Au Intersected in Hole 62

Marketwired Canada
Chapleau Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:CHI) is very pleased to report a
significant high grade gold intersection on the Meio structure at the Coringa
gold project in Brazil. Hole 62 intersected 3 m of 65.77 g/t (1.92 oz/t) Au,
65.17 g/t (1.90 oz/t) Ag, 6.03 % Pb, 4.35 % Zn and 0.45 % Cu from 56 to 59 m.
This hole was drilled approximately 50 m southeast of hole 11 (2 m of 23.67 g/t
Au, 28.25 g/t Ag and 1.67 % Pb from 50 to 52 m) confirming continuity of high
grade gold mineralization on the Guaxebinha-Meio-Onca structure which has a
strike length of 1120 m. Results for an additional two (2) holes on Meio are
awaited.
The second phase exploration drilling of 44 diamond drill holes, from holes 23
to 66, totaling 5031.70 m was completed in March, 2008 and results for 7 holes
are still outstanding. Gold results received for the first 37 holes of the
second phase drilling have also confirmed excellent continuity along strike and
to a depth of approximately 100m of the mineralized shear vein structures such
as Serra (700 m) and Galena-Vesa-Boca (400 m). Drill results and in-house
modeling of the shear structures have confirmed "stacked" quartz veins at Serra
and plunging high grade zones of gold mineralization along various sections of
the mineralized structures. Gold mineralization is also open along several more
structures which currently have only one or two drill holes on them (see maps on
website: www.chapleauresources.com).
The high grade gold intersections within larger envelopes of gold, silver, lead,
zinc and copper mineralization associated with the drilled shear zones is very
encouraging in moving Coringa forward in the definition of a potential gold
resource. Less-than 12% of the claim area has been explored and the significant
drill results to date, coupled with more recent identification of gold in pan
concentrates beyond the current drill targets opens gold mineralization in all
directions beyond the current known mineralized structures. Extensive follow-up
geophysical programs and soil sampling along extensions of known mineralized
structures and also in areas of cover outside of the current drilling are
currently being planned.
The results for holes 44 to 62 are highlighted in the Tables below:

Ian Gendall (President) commented: "We are extremely encouraged with the latest
results at Coringa and are continuing to expand the gold mineralization beyond
areas previously drilled in 2007. Gold mineralization continues to be
intersected in the majority of the holes and we are confident that we now have
sufficient drill holes on 1.1 km of the 10 km of gold mineralized vein
structures to potentially define a gold resource".
Drill holes were inclined at between 50 degrees and 60 degrees with a maximum of
185.10 m core length. Core recovery for the mineralized intervals averaged
greater than 95%. The estimated true widths of all the mineralized intervals are
approximately 90% of the intersected widths in the holes. Gold mineralization
occurs within silicified, quartz veined and sericite altered shear zones
surrounded by hematitic and propylitic envelopes within granite and rhyolites.
Principal sulphide mineralization includes pyrite, galena, sphalerite and
chalcopyrite between 0.5% and 20.0%.
Drill cores for assaying from holes 46 to 66 were taken at a minimum of 0.2 m
and maximum of 2.0 m intervals. All core samples (HQ diameter) were cut with a
diamond saw and one-half of the core placed in bags, numbered and sealed then
sent via a secure transport agency to the SGS Geosol laboratory in Itaituba in
Brazil for preparation and the pulps sent directly to the SGS Geosol laboratory
in Belo Horizonte and Vespasiano for analysis. The core samples were crushed
down to 2 mm, a split of 250 to 300 g was taken and pulverized to better than
95% minus 150 mesh. Gold analysis was by fire assay of a 30 g sample and an
atomic absorption finish. Silver and additional 32 elements using aqua regia
acid digestion were analyzed by Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP). As part of the
Company's QA/QC program duplicates, blanks and internationally recognized
standards were included in the sample batches to check on assay precision and
accuracy. SGS Geosol which is an ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001: 2004 registered
laboratory also has a quality control program in place which includes standards
and duplicates.
