(TSX-V: EYC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Norbert Horvath as product advisor. Mr. Horvath
will aid in engineering and architecting the digital health
database. In addition, Eyecarrot has appointed Joe Lia, Supervising Producer of Survivor, as
the Director of Video Production. Mr. Lia will oversee the
development and execution of all video related content for
Eyecarrot.
Norbert Horvath is a technology
executive, entrepreneur, and team builder with broad experience in
large scale mission critical systems. Mr. Horvath's past ventures
have led a number of large scale multi-disciplinary efforts
covering healthcare, non-profit, oil exploration, publishing and
media. In particular, he brings immense experience within the
healthcare sector having led the successful launch of nationwide
Electronic Health Records in multiple countries. According to a
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation study, the countries utilizing
Mr. Horvath's designs now have the world's most advanced and
comprehensive nationwide health systems resulting in record drops
of HIV transmission rates, maternal mortality, and chronic disease
while instituting cost savings and efficient public health
measures. In 2008 and 2009, Mr. Horvath was appointed Technical
Advisor to the Vice Chair of the US President's Council on
Financial Literacy leading technology efforts for multiple
nationwide initiatives during the 08/09 housing financial
crisis.
Joe Lia graduated from the
University of Southern California
School of Cinematic Arts. He made a series of independent feature
films and then moved into television where he has spent ten years
working on the popular American reality competition show, Survivor.
His strong creative track record in writing and directing for
fiction and non-fiction on multiple platforms, coupled with his
production experience and numerous contacts in the industry, will
allow Eyecarrot to create content at the highest level. Mr. Lia is
also an Eyecarrot success story. At age 30, his vision became
severely impaired and Chief Scientific Director, Dr. Selwyn Super, helped him to use his two eyes
together to experience 3D (stereo vision) for the first time in his
life. His personal experience with Eyecarrot will ensure our story
is told with the utmost passion.

Update on Director
Dr. John Flanagan has been
invited to become a Life Fellow of the College of Optometrists, the
leading optometric organization in the United Kingdom, for his research in glaucoma
and diabetic eye disease and contributions in the development of
optometric education in both the UK and Canada. Prior to joining UC Berkeley in 2014,
Dr. Flanagan held faculty positions at the School of Optometry and
Vision Science, University of Waterloo,
and the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences,
University of Toronto. Dr. Flanagan has
supervised 42 graduate students and has authored more than 150
peer-reviewed publications. In addition, he has published 10 book
chapters, three books and has given numerous invited lectures
around the world.
