GreenChek Technology Inc. (OTCBB: GCHK) today announced it has commenced its application process for its emissions reduction device to becoming a verified technology in the State of California.

GreenChek has had numerous discussions with the State of California and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to outline the criteria required for its ERD(TM)-2.0 to become a verified technology. Through its efforts with CARB, GreenChek is also seeking verification with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA's verification program outlines that technologies need "real world" testing to ensure that they maintain their performance. As retrofit technologies are introduced into the transportation market in higher volume, verifying the field performance and long-term durability of these products through in-use testing is increasingly essential. EPA requires rigorously testing each verified technology to confirm the percent of emissions reduction and evaluate durability. In-use testing offers confidence that verified retrofit technologies have been proven in the real world.

It is clear that addressing emissions issues takes a great deal of resources. GreenChek will pursue partnerships with local governments and private corporations across the US in order to apply for state and federal grants for the purpose of addressing emissions issues. Through these alliances, GreenChek expects to deploy its ERD(TM)-2.0 and begin sales of its product in the US. An exemption from the State of California will be sought to sell GreenChek's device as an aftermarket product until verification can be provided to support public/private partnerships.

GreenChek's objective is to address major environmental concerns which have resulted in increasingly stringent standards by government. The EPA recently proposed stricter health standards for smog/ground-level ozone, which form when emissions react in the sun, at a level between 0.060 and 0.070 parts per million (ppm) measured over 8 hours. "EPA is stepping up to protect Americans from one of the most persistent and widespread pollutants we face," said EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson. "Using the best science to strengthen these standards is a long overdue action that will help millions of Americans breathe easier and live healthier." Through public/private alliances' in-use testing of the ERD(TM)-2.0, GreenChek hopes to implement a nationwide emissions reduction strategy to help effect change with regard to global warming health issues that are a result of increasing greenhouse gases, particulate matter and other airborne compounds.

"With California's and the EPA's increasingly tight standards on emissions for transportation vehicles, GreenChek stands ready to apply its ERD(TM)-2.0 technology in a meaningful and productive way to assist corporations and government in meeting those standards," states Lincoln Parke, President of GreenChek.
