The following table lists unplanned and planned production outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.

A gasoline making unit was shut down Tuesday after a fire at the Flint Hill Resources LP refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas, a state official said.

The fluid catalytic cracking unit was shut down but other units remained online, according to a spokeswoman for the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality. The fire erupted at 10:40 a.m. (CT) Tuesday at a unit in the east plant, said Katie Stavinoha, a spokeswoman for the company. The fire was put out, Stavinoha said.

Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSA) said Tuesday afternoon that a crude unit at its Deer Park, Texas refinery hit a snag and would return to normal production Wednesday morning.

"The unit has been secured and stabilized, and we are in the process of returning the unit to normal operation and production," the company said in a statement.

A Sunday night explosion caused a fire was put out Monday night at Sunoco Inc.'s (SUN) Marcus Hook, Pa., oil refinery. The refinery was running at 85% of planned rates. The company company ramped up production at its two other refineries to cover the production loss.

A fire at the BP PLC (BP) Texas City, Texas refinery isn't impacting production, a person close to refining operations said Tuesday.

The fire broke out early Tuesday at a slop tank at the 467,720 barrel a day plant.

Meanwhile, BP is resuming output from the No. 1 ultraformer unit, No. 3 ultraformer and ultracracker at its Texas City the company said in emissions filings to environmental regulators.

Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) said Monday morning it had completed work on a hydrocracker unit that was shut down unexpectedly last week at its Baytown, Texas, refinery.

The unit is in restart mode and should return to normal rates this week, company spokeswoman Neely Nelson said.

Exxon said May 14 its Baton Rouge, La., refinery has returned to normal operations following a partial unplanned shutdown last week. The company also said it shut down hydrocracker unit at its Baytown, Texas refinery this week.

Total SA (TOT) reduced rates to a gasoline making unit for the second day in a row May 12 after a snag at the Port Arthur, Texas, refinery, according to a filing with state environmental regulators.

ConocoPhillips (COP) sulfur recover unit at its Borger, Texas refinery will be undergoing scheduled maintenance beginning May 13, the company said in a filing with the state environmental agency.

Sinclair Oil Corp. continues to clean up a weekend spill of 65,000 barrels of oil product at its refinery in Sinclair, Wyoming, the company said May 12 afternoon.

The company described the product as "gasoline grade material," and declined to give more specifics.

Maintenance has concluded at Harvest Energy Trust's North Atlantic refinery in Newfoundland, and the plant is expected to return to service within a week to 10 days, company spokesman Jason Crumley said May 12.

The Citgo Corpus Christi, Texas refinery crude and vacuum unit was shut down early May 12 for a turnaround, according to a report filed with environmental regulators.

Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) said May 11 morning that the 18,000-barrel-a-day hydrocracker at its Delaware City, Del., refinery is restarting.

Over the weekend, Tesoro (TSO) began 39 days of turnaround maintenance hydrocracker and reformer at its Golden Eagle refinery in Martinez, Calif. A turnaround of similar length will occur in the fourth quarter at its Wilmington, Calif., refinery, the company said on May 7.

Shell Oil Corp.'s (RDSB) Anancortes, Washington, refinery was at planned rates and has lifted the force majeure on crude oil receipts to the refinery in place since April 23 following a plant-wide shutdown owing to a power failure.

Shell will perform turnaround maintenance at a crude unit and coker unit at its Martinez, Calif., refinery from July 10 to Aug. 15, refiners and traders doing business with Shell said on May 6.

Western Refining (WNR) will shut its El Paso, Texas, refinery for 10 days in June, the company said on May 6.
