NEW YORK, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Dow Jones & Company today announced the appointments of Edward Tan, Greg Millman and Jacob Plieth to Dow Jones Investment Banker's dedicated editorial team, which offers in-depth opinion and analysis on global industries and the topics essential to bankers and analysts, including M&A, capital raising, regulatory changes, and venture-capital and private-equity financing. Edward Tan joins as a senior columnist based in the New York newsroom, focusing on energy, natural resources and industrials. Greg Millman joins as a senior columnist based in Hong Kong covering Asian financial services, and Jacob Plieth joins as a columnist writing on pharmaceuticals, energy and chemicals, working out of the London newsroom. Mr. Tan brings 35 years of banking and analyst experience on Wall Street in the oil, natural gas, utilities and industrials space. Mr. Tan joins Dow Jones from Moody's Investors Service where he served as a senior analyst and vice president of the energy and utilities team for eight years. While at Moody's Investors Service he was also the author of Moody's rating methodology for North American regulated gas companies. Prior to that he worked for 24 years at Bank of America, where his last role was managing director, structured trade finance, following a credit and marketing role in oil and gas. Mr. Tan has an MBA in finance and international business from New York University's Stern School of Business and a bachelor's in international relations from Yale University. He is also fluent in French and Spanish. Mr. Millman brings to Dow Jones 20 years of financial writing experience, as a journalist as well as an author. His articles on corporate finance and risk management have appeared in various international publications including Barron's, Financial Executive magazine, the Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal. Mr. Millman has also authored several books, including The Floating Battlefield: Corporate Strategies in the Currency Wars; The Vandals Crown: How Rebel Currency Traders Overthrew the World's Central Banks; The Day Traders: The Untold Story of the Extreme Investors and How They Changed Wall Street Forever; and Home Schooling: A Family's Journey. Before taking up writing full time, Mr. Millman was a business analyst involved in strategic planning for project finance and technology transfer deals in China with the Eisenberg Corp, Asia Editor of the Business International newsletter at Business International Corp, a relationship officer on the Korea desk at Bankers Trust, and editor of the American Chamber of Commerce's magazine in Taipei. Mr. Millman has an MBA from Olin Business School at Washington University and a master's in Asian studies from Washington University. He is fluent in Mandarin, French, German, Spanish and Latin. Mr. Plieth joins Dow Jones from Edison Investment Research, where he'd been a biotechnology analyst for two years. Prior to that, he was a news editor at Scrip Pharmaceutical News, where he won an Informa award for "Best Scoop" for his coverage of the investor battle for control of SkyePharma.
