Explosives and chemicals maker Orica Ltd. (ORI.AU) said Monday and its joint venture partners Yara International ASA (YAR.OS) and Apache Corp. (APA) have signed off on an agreement to build a US$800 million ammonium nitrate plant on the Burrup peninsula in Western Australia.

Construction of the 330,000 ton-a-year plant is scheduled for completion at the end of 2015, Orica said in a statement. It will pay Yara and Apache US$110 million on commencement of construction.

Spain's Tecnicas Reunidas SA (TRE.MC) will be appointed to build the facility, it said.
