Chris Thomas – Head of Blockchain & Corporate
Security
A seasoned security and technology veteran, Chris Thomas brings
over 25 years of experience in software development and 15 years in
information security. His expertise spans building SaaS-based
security tools to blockchain security services, with a passion for
solving complex security challenges through innovative
solutions.
Chris’s fascination with blockchain technology dates back to the
legendary 10,000 BTC pizza transaction. Through years of deep
technical engagement, he has observed critical security gaps in the
space, describing it as a "dumpster fire" in need of robust
security frameworks.
His mission at GRVT is to fortify blockchain security and
establish industry-leading standards to protect institutional and
retail users alike.
Prior to joining GRVT, Chris held leadership roles at NCC Group,
IBM (European Technology Lead), and Crypto.com (Blockchain Security
Audit Lead), where he played a pivotal role in strengthening
security infrastructures and conducting blockchain security audits.
His experience will be instrumental in advancing GRVT’s security
protocols and ensuring the highest standards of protection across
its hybrid exchange platform.
Suren Markosov – Head of Quantitative Risk
Suren Markosov joins GRVT with a distinguished career in
quantitative finance, bringing over 20 years of algorithmic
trading, risk management, and quantitative research experience.
Previously, he served as the Head of Quantitative Research at
Bullish Exchange, where he was among the first employees and played
a key role in designing and implementing the exchange’s trading
functionality. Prior to that, he led quant research at Anboto
Labs and held senior roles at major financial institutions,
including Morgan Stanley, CLSA, Credit Suisse, and Bank of America
Merrill Lynch.
With a deep background in market-making and algorithmic trading,
Suren’s expertise will enhance GRVT’s trading infrastructure,
ensuring liquidity optimization and advanced risk management
strategies. His extensive experience in both traditional finance
and crypto markets makes him a valuable asset in GRVT’s mission to
bridge the gap between centralized and decentralized trading.
