        Independent Directors Recommend Dotterel Offer



The Independent Directors of CALA note the announcement made
by Dotterel Limited ("Dotterel") today stating that Dotterel
now owns or controls CALA shares representing 52.82 per cent.
of CALA's share capital (including approximately 5.7 per cent.
sold to Dotterel by the Miller Group today) and that it has
declared its Increased and Final Cash Offer of 200 pence per
CALA ordinary share ("the Dotterel Offer") unconditional in
all respects.  In addition, they note that the Miller Group
announced earlier today that, subject to Dotterel posting its
offer document, it would not now be posting its own offer
document.

It is expected that the Dotterel offer document will be posted
in the next few days.  This will be accompanied by a letter
from the Independent Directors setting out, inter alia, the
background to the Dotterel Offer and a recommendation that
remaining CALA shareholders should now accept the Dotterel
Offer.
