International Greetings PLC buys The Cracker Company

International Greetings, the UK's leading supplier of private label greetings
products has acquired the business of The Cracker Company, the market leader
in confectionery and games Christmas crackers for up to a maximum cash
consideration of #200,000. In the year to 31 December 1997, The Cracker
Company had turnover of approximately #2m, and the acquisition is expected to
be earnings enhancing in the current financial year to March 31 1999.

Nick Fisher, Joint Chief Executive of International Greetings said, "This
acquisition gives us the opportunity to broaden our range in a key product
category and by utilising existing production facilities, additional turnover
can be achieved with minimal increase in overheads, so bringing an immediate
benefit to the bottom line."
