PR Newswire (US)
MIDLAND, Mich., July 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dow Corning Corp.
has made several key executive appointments within its Advanced
Technologies and Ventures Business (ATVB) to position the company
for growth opportunities in electronics markets throughout Asia.
Company veteran Phil Dembowski has been appointed Greater China
business director for ATVB, and will be based in China. Dembowski
assumes his new duties from Jeroen Bloemhard, who remains global
industry executive director of Dow Corning's electronics business
and will move from China to Japan to focus on expanding Dow
Corning's position in the Japan electronics market. Meanwhile, Ken
Seibert replaces Dembowski as global manager of the Device
Fabrication materials group within ATVB's Electronics and Advanced
Technologies (E&AT). Dembowski has been with Dow Corning for 20
years in a variety of engineering and management positions. He
earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Michigan
Technological University in 1987, and a master's in business
administration from the University of Michigan in 1991. He will
transition into his new role over the next several weeks and will
relocate from Michigan to China, along with his family, later this
year. "I'm looking forward to continuing the momentum built up by
Jeroen Bloemhard and strengthening our already successful
operations in China, the world's fastest-growing microelectronics
market," said Dembowski. "Dow Corning is committed to developing a
world-class silicone and silicon materials industry in Greater
China, while further advancing the growth of the region's
electronics industry." Seibert, who has been market manager of Dow
Corning's chemical vapor deposition (CVD) business since 2003, has
won company-wide marketing and technical awards for developing
E&AT's CVD business model, and for developing novel CVD
precursors. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
from Michigan Technological University in 1987 and worked for
Harris Semiconductor and Motorola Inc. before joining Dow Corning
in 1999. Bloemhard, E&AT's global industry executive director,
has held a variety of marketing and sales positions around the
globe since joining Dow Corning in 1991. He will relocate to Tokyo
later this year, where he will be closer to critical electronics
industry customers, partners and innovators. "Putting our company's
resources and senior management closer to our key Asian customers
is a strategic focus for Dow Corning," Bloemhard said. "These
personnel moves support this important corporate objective." Dow
Corning's Advanced Technologies and Ventures Business serves the
needs of the electronics, optoelectronics and semiconductor
industries with specialized, high-purity silicone- and
