Dow Corning Continues Push Into Organic Materials Introduces
Complete Family of Conductive Inks for Advanced Wireless
Electronics Applications MIDLAND, Mich., Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ --
Expanding its presence in the organic materials market, Dow Corning
Corporation today introduced five new products in its family of
highly conductive silver inks, giving electronics manufacturers a
range of materials to choose from when designing portable,
high-performance wireless devices. The new conductive inks are the
latest organic materials to emerge from Dow Corning since it
entered the $7 billion specialty organics market earlier this year
with its flagship material, Dow Corning(R) PI-2000 Highly
Conductive Silver Ink. The new additions to the conductive ink
family -- Dow Corning(R) PI-2200, PI-2310, PI-2320, PI-2500,
PI-2600 -- support many electronics applications, such as smart
cards, radio frequency (RFID) tags, flexible circuits and antennas
for handheld devices. Revenues from these applications are expected
to see double-digit growth over the next several years, driven by
demand from industries as diverse as health care, inventory control
and logistics, access/security badges, communications,
transportation and defense. "As Dow Corning moves further into the
organic materials market, our goal remains steadfast: to give
customers the broadest selection of materials capabilities, and
back it with unparalleled support," said Tom Cook, global industry
executive director, Dow Corning. "With our growing silver ink
family, Dow Corning enables a full breadth of applications, making
it easier for customers to find the exact material for their unique
design and manufacturing needs." To address the wide range of
performance requirements in silver ink applications, Dow Corning's
diverse family includes thermoset and thermoplastic materials. An
array of drying and curing profiles is available to enable use of
many low-cost substrates, including polyethylene terephthalate
(PET), paper and even polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Additionally
surface finishes have been optimized to enhance electron flow in
certain applications. Dow Corning's materials deliver a step change
in conductive ink performance, with electrical conductivity that is
an order of magnitude greater than other products in the market and
an ability to maintain low resistivity even during long-term
environmental stress. About Dow Corning Electronics Solutions Dow
