Russian steelmaker OAO Severstal (CHMF.RS) is interested in
buying the Florange steel mill in northeastern France from steel
giant ArcelorMittal (MT), French daily Les Echos reported Tuesday,
citing unnamed sources.
According to the report, early talks started around two weeks
ago between Severstal and ArcelorMittal.
ArcelorMittal and Severstal weren't immediately available for
comment.
In September, French President Francois Hollande met with
ArcelorMittal's chief executive, Lakshmi Mittal, to discuss the
future of the Florange mill.
