--Steelmaker ArcelorMittal (MT.FR) had its Italian offices searched by the police over the company's role in the management of the Ilva plant, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday.

--The company recently said it would leave the country and abandon the plant, potentially putting thousands of people out of work in the southern town of Taranto.

--ArcelorMittal wasn't immediately available for comment.
