- Acquisition Marks Amedisys' Initial Entry Into Arizona Market - BATON ROUGE, La., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Amedisys, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMED; or the "Company"), one of America's leading home health nursing companies, today announced the acquisition of the home health agency of Sun Health located in Sun City, Arizona. The transaction is effective as of November 1, 2006, and is expected to contribute approximately $4.5 million in annualized revenues. This acquisition represents Amedisys' initial entry into Arizona. Sun Health is a non-profit organization that provides health care services in the greater Phoenix area. Simultaneous with the acquisition, Amedisys entered into an agreement with Sun Health MediSun, an affiliate of Sun Health, to provide home health services to members of its Medicare Advantage plans. Amedisys will be reimbursed for these services at a rate equivalent to traditional Medicare rates.
