Quirky animated musical video captures the
spirit of giving
CALGARY,
Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ - The CP Holiday
Train has inspired its first ever animated music video now playing
on YouTube.
MC Elfie and Santa both rap about the Holiday
Train, its mission for food banks and the generosity of communities
in this two minute flick that captures the true spirit of the
season.
Based on the song " Holiday Train Wrap" featured
on the new Holiday Train Tracks CD and real footage from Holiday
Train events, Montreal-based
animator Daniel Gies lends his warm,
friendly and eclectic decoupage style animation to this
project.
"CP's Holiday Train is a great festive event for
communities to get together and give back," said Gies. "This flick
combines animation and video in a way that hopefully extends the
reach of this magical train of lights to even more giving
people."
The CD, Holiday Train Tracks, was released earlier
this week. Copies of the CD and all online sales will be donated to
food banks along this year's Holiday Train route, which will be
used to raise additional funds or awareness at the local level. CDs
are also available for download online through iTunes and
cdbaby.com or hard copies can be purchased at events or on
www.cpr.ca.
Until December
17th, two brightly decorated freight trains are
travelling across six Canadian provinces and eight states in the
U.S. Midwest and Northeast helping to raise money and food for
local food shelves. This is the 12th year for the 'train
of lights'. Since 1999, the CP Holiday Train has helped raise
$4.8 million and generated almost 2.3
million pounds of food donations. All food and cash donations
raised at each event stays in that community for distribution. The
