French ophthalmic lens maker Essilor International SA (EI.FR) Friday said it is buying 50% of Israel-based Shamir Optical, in a $130 million investment.

As part of the transaction, Shamir Optical will be delisted from the Nasdaq Global Market and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, Essilor said.
