Angie's List on Tuesday named former Best Buy Co. executive Scott Durchslag as its chief executive and president, effective immediately.

Mr. Durchslag was president of global e-commerce and marketing at Best Buy until last year. He has also held executive roles at Expedia Worldwide, Skype Global S.à r.l. and Motorola.

In July, Angie's List co-founder and CEO Bill Oesterle stepped down to become more involved with civic issues in Indiana.

Despite seeing revenue growth, the services marketplace and consumer-review company has posted mostly losses since going public in 2011, as expansion efforts have ratcheted up costs.

In its latest quarter, revenue grew less than expected as gross paid membership additions fell 27%.
