Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement with the city of Evansville, Ind., the state’s third-largest city, to provide Tyler’s Munis® enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. In addition to software licenses, the agreement includes related professional services, maintenance and support. Evansville has invested in a broad range of Tyler’s Munis financial, human capital management and citizen service applications with the goal of facilitating quicker responses to customer requests, increasing interdepartmental information sharing and eliminating the use of multiple software systems.

“By implementing Tyler’s Munis ERP software the city will gain more efficiencies, provide better services to the community, and save money on annual software maintenance due to lower total cost of ownership,” said Evansville Chief Information Officer Matthew Arvay. “Furthermore, Tyler’s solution provides functionality to allow citizens to make online bill payments, which is not possible with the city’s current software.”

Tyler was unanimously chosen by a selection committee comprised of the City Controller, Chief Information Officer, Administrative Services, Building Commission, Department of Metropolitan Development, the Evansville Fire and Police departments, and the Evansville Water and Sewer Utility after extensive reference checks and product demonstrations.

“By implementing this software, we’re replacing multiple, outdated software systems and replacing them with 21st century technology, saving the taxpayers and the city money,” said Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel. “Additionally, it will allow us to move toward a paperless environment with the implementation of Tyler’s citizen and business self-service applications. Tyler’s integrated Munis ERP solution will vastly improve Evansville’s ability to serve internal and external clients.”

“Tyler’s unique local government insight coupled with our technology and the functionality underlying Munis will facilitate information-driven decisions and streamline processes, helping the city of Evansville achieve its business goals and operate with greater efficiency,” said Richard E. Peterson Jr., president of Tyler’s ERP & School Division. “We look forward to working with the city to make its technology more current to empower staff and citizens, and help the city significantly improve its daily operations.”
