Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed two software as a service (SaaS) agreements to provide its Munis® enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to the California cities of Covina and Encinitas. The contracts include hosting services, related professional services, maintenance and support.

The city of Covina, located near Los Angeles, will employ a wide array of Munis applications under a seven-year SaaS agreement, including financials, human capital management, content management and citizen self-service to streamline their current business processes and gain efficiencies, as well as enhance citizen services.

“Tyler’s Munis solution will provide a single-entity platform to collaborate across all departments and build a foundation for e-government, while moving us closer to going green,” said Dilu De Alwis, Covina’s finance director. “We chose Munis for its enhanced staff efficiency tools, effectiveness in the delivery of services, wireless access for inspectors, ability to generate revenue through permitting and innovative Web-based citizen services that will improve customer service, combined with hosted capabilities based on a commercial solution proven successful by other, comparable jurisdictions.”

Located near San Diego, the city of Encinitas has signed a SaaS agreement to use Munis applications, including financials, human capital management, payroll, content management and employee self-service.

“During a rigorous evaluation process, Tyler Technologies distinguished themselves from other vendors by offering a cost-competitive system with comprehensive features, including workflow processing and advanced reporting capabilities,” said Lynne Tufts, information technology manager for Encinitas. “We were impressed by Tyler’s experience in the public sector, their excellent customer references and the caliber of their implementation and support teams.”

“Our exclusive public sector focus and domain expertise allows us to develop products that make our clients more efficient and responsive to their constituents,” said Richard E. Peterson Jr., president of Tyler’s ERP & School Division. “As a reliable and responsible software provider, Tyler fully appreciates the need for efficiency and effectiveness; we demonstrate that consistently with a proven track record of projects completed on-time and on-budget. We look forward to working with Covina and Encinitas.”
