West Hartford Public Schools will be first
domestic K-12 Microsoft Dynamics AX implementation
Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement
with Connecticut’s town of West Hartford and West Hartford Public
Schools to implement Microsoft Dynamics® AX, an enterprise resource
planning (ERP) solution with public sector functionality that Tyler
Technologies jointly developed with Microsoft®. The contract
includes related professional services, licensing, training and
support.
West Hartford selected Tyler Technologies and Microsoft Dynamics
after a competitive review process with criteria including
experience, technical and functional alignment, implementation
approach, product demonstrations and reference checks.
“Being on the leading edge of technology is a core
organizational value for the town. We selected Microsoft Dynamics
AX as a business solution not only for its support of operational
and administrative processes within our organization, but as a
platform for future development that will consistently keep us
current with state-of-the-art technology,” said Peter Privitera,
director of financial services at the town of West Hartford.
“Microsoft Dynamics AX will help West Hartford manage finances,
procurement, human resources and budget control with increased
productivity, more effective workforce management, and improved
resource alignment.”
For decades, Tyler has successfully developed, deployed and
supported software solutions exclusively for the public sector. As
part of the agreement between Tyler and Microsoft, Tyler is an
authorized reseller of Microsoft Dynamics AX and delivers software
support and other standard services. West Hartford Public Schools
will be the first domestic K-12 installation on the Microsoft
Dynamics AX platform.
“West Hartford has made a sound investment in selecting Tyler
Technologies because of our evergreen philosophy, which provides
perpetual software upgrades without additional relicensing fees,”
said Jeff Green, senior vice president at Tyler Technologies. “With
the deployment of Microsoft Dynamics AX, West Hartford will
consolidate disparate applications to a fully integrated solution,
allowing for greater efficiency and productivity.”
The town of West Hartford has a population of 63,300 and is
located in central Connecticut, adjacent to the city of Hartford,
the state’s capital. The town and schools of West Hartford employ
approximately 1,930 full-time employees.
