Agreement connects 50 percent of Georgia’s
population with one electronic filing system
Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today announced that
Gwinnett County, Georgia, and the Metropolitan Court Clerks
Association have selected Tyler’s Odyssey eFileGATM solution to
provide a unified electronic filing platform under a master
services agreement (MSA). Any Georgia court may use the MSA to
procure Tyler’s e-filing solution.
Odyssey eFileGA allows attorneys and other parties doing
business with the courts to file cases, pleadings, motions and
other documents online without having to travel to a physical court
location. In addition to Gwinnett County, the rapidly growing
number of Georgia counties that have selected eFileGA includes
Bibb, Chatham, Cherokee, Clayton, DeKalb, Douglas, Floyd, Fulton,
Rockdale, Glynn State Court and Houston State Court.
“We selected Tyler Technologies because of the company’s
unmatched track record in providing integrated e-filing solutions
for court systems for all court sizes regardless of volume. Most
important, the Tyler e-filing solution is compatible with any case
management system, as it is Web-based. Our goal is to provide one
common platform for all attorneys to use for all filings — in the
metro area and across Georgia,” said Richard T. Alexander Jr.,
Gwinnett County Clerk of Courts and President of the Metropolitan
Court Clerks Association. “The master services agreement provides
uniformity to court filers and helps ensure that state requirements
have been met. We are excited about the opportunity to drive
economic, environmental and technological change in courts across
the metropolitan Atlanta area and Georgia, and we invite any court
in Georgia to join eFileGA.”
Odyssey eFileGA is delivered as a Tyler-hosted solution and
allows users to file documents with the courts 24 hours a day,
every day of the week. As part of Tyler’s e-filing solution, courts
can provide payment services securely online.
“Tyler has worked hard to broaden partnerships within Georgia’s
judicial communities, and the new agreement with the Metropolitan
Court Clerks Association means Tyler’s e-filing system now connects
half of the state’s population with one unified system,” said Bruce
Graham, president of Tyler’s Courts & Justice Division.
“Odyssey eFileGA requires no out-of-pocket expenses for counties
and quickly provides efficiencies for courts, lawyers and clerks.
We are proud that the Metropolitan Court Clerks Association
determined that eFileGA was the best platform for their customers,
and we believe their criteria and selection process could be a good
model for other Georgia judicial systems that are considering
e-filing solutions.”
The Georgia Council of Magistrate Court Judges also selected
Odyssey eFileGA and is the first in the state to expand access to
justice by offering Tyler’s Odyssey Guide & File solution,
which helps self-represented litigants with the self-service filing
process via a simple-to-use Web portal. Tyler’s Odyssey e-filing
platform currently processes almost 1 million filings per month and
provides support for 300,000 e-filing users nationwide. The state
of Texas recently implemented Tyler’s Odyssey software and hosted
infrastructure for its mandatory e-filing platform called
eFileTexas.govTM.
