SIOUX
LOOKOUT, ON, Oct. 31,
2024 /CNW/ - First Mining Gold Corp. ("First
Mining" or the "Company") (TSX: FF) (OTCQX: FFMGF)
(FRANKFURT: FMG) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a
Process Agreement with Cat Lake First Nation ("Cat Lake") and Lac Seul First Nation
("Lac Seul") which provides important capacity support for
the implementation of a community-based Anishinaabe-Led Impact
Assessment ("ALIA").
The Process Agreement represents a significant commitment for
First Mining and provides the framework for First Mining,
Cat Lake and Lac Seul to have
procedural clarity and meaningful participation in the review of
the Springpole Gold Project ("Springpole Project" or the
"Project") through the unique cultural perspective of the
Anishinaabe people.
"We are very pleased to support this leading-edge work on
community-based Indigenous engagement for the Springpole Project
with Cat Lake and Lac Seul" stated
Dan Wilton, CEO of First Mining.
"First Mining is privileged to be working in the traditional
territories of the Nations and we understand and appreciate the
significant commitment of time and resources that Cat Lake and Lac Seul are contributing and we
look forward to working with the Nations and leadership to continue
to advance meaningful dialogue. Springpole has the potential to
deliver significant infrastructure and economic benefits to an
underserviced area of Northwestern
Ontario and we believe that the Project, properly delivered
with respect and protection for the land, air and water, can have a
lasting positive impact for generations to come".
First Mining continues to meet and work with Indigenous
communities and community leaders around the Springpole Project to
support awareness, address questions and comments, and invite
participation towards Project improvement and
planning.
