Mondial Assistance and the Computerized Airline Sales and
Marketing Association (CASMA) announced today that a reception held
at CASMA’s fall conference has raised enough money for Miracle
Flights for Kids to provide transportation for eight children in
need of life-saving specialized medical treatment. The event marks
the first time a fundraiser has been held at a CASMA conference.
Miracle Flights for Kids is a Nevada-based non-profit charity
focused on transporting seriously ill children to the treatments
and evaluations they need.
“We are pleased to be the beneficiaries of the first ever
community outreach reception at a CASMA conference,” said Vanessa
Moreno, director of public relations at Miracle Flights for Kids.
“And we’d like to thank CASMA and Mondial Assistance for joining
our other travel-industry supporters in helping us provide a
valuable service to children in need.”
The funds were raised through sales of raffle tickets during a
one-hour reception at the Monte Carlo Resort in Las Vegas, Nev.
Raffle prizes, donated by Mondial Assistance and other CASMA
members, included two tickets to wherever jetBlue flies, two Flip
Ultra HD camcorders and free stays at the Monte Carlo hotel, the
Crowne Plaza San Jose del Cabo and the Hyatt Regency Montreal.
“Miracle Flights for Kids is a great organization,” said Mark
Pond, president of CASMA. “As a leading trade group for the airline
industry, we are pleased to partner with Mondial Assistance in
helping Miracle Flights for Kids, which is already supported by so
many of our members.”
