The following table lists unplanned and planned production outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswire's. The information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.

Irving Oil on Sept. 26 said normal operations resumed following an early-day explosion at a small carbonate storage tank. The event had no impact to production.

Phillips 66(PSX) on Sept. 25 reported the shutdown of an unspecified process unit for planned maintenance at its Wood River refinery in Roxana, Illinois, according to a filing made available on Sept 26.

Valero (VLO) on Sept. 25 said a power malfunction in Complex 7 at its Corpus Christi, Texas, refining complex had no material impact to production.

ExxonMobil (XOM) on Sept. 23 said in a filing to the NRC a coker unit compressor failure resulted in a rate cut at its Joliet refinery in Ill.

Phillips 66 in a report to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality said key gasoline-making fluid catalytic cracking unit, or FCCU, 40 at its joint-venture refinery in Borger, Texas, will be taken out of service for just over one month on Sept. 24, and FCCU 29 will shut down on October 21 for one month.

Phillips 66 on Sept. 21 said production had resumed at its Los Angeles refinery as expected. Record heat and a power outage on Sept 15 forced a facility-wide shutdown.

Phillips 66 (PSX) on Sept. 21 said production had resumed at its Alliance refinery in Belle Chasse, La., as expected. Operations were idled on Aug. 28 ahead of Hurricane Isaac.

Valero Energy on Sept. 21 confirmed the shutdown of a fluid catalytic cracker at it's 160,000 barrel-a-day Houston, Texas, refinery for eight weeks of planned turnaround maintenance.

Separately, on Sept. 21 Valero said maintenance that began the day before at its McKee, Texas, refinery wasn't expected to have a material impact to production.
