Subscription service provides Audioboom with compelling insights for matching podcast listeners by genre with their buying habits
Audioboom (AIM: BOOM), the leading global podcast company, announces a partnership with global data and analytics company Nielsen which will allow Audioboom to access the Listener Buying Power Service from Nielsen Scarborough. Nielsen's Podcast Listener Buying Power Service allows clients to profile podcast audiences in order to connect specific types of listeners with particular advertisers and provides specific program-level insights. These detailed insights will be particularly pertinent to Audioboom Original shows, where enhanced metrics are expected to amplify relevance and increase engagement for advertisers, which in turn should benefit Audioboom's gross margins and return on investment from its Audioboom Original Network.
Nielsen Scarborough collects rich data on listeners that goes beyond the consumption data that Audioboom currently collects through its existing distribution channels. As such, it provides a range of information, including purchase history, purchase intent, household income, education levels, interests, political stance, demographics and other behaviours. By utilising this data, Audioboom will be able to create stronger buying opportunities for its advertising partners and drive enhanced value to its podcasters.
The targeted information provided could, therefore, enable Audioboom to grow advertising revenues as the data provides an added value selling point when speaking to advertisers. For example, when working with advertisers of premium products, Audioboom will be able to ascertain which podcast audiences have the relevant high net-worth listeners that would appeal to relevant advertisers.
The Listener Buying Power Service has an effective sample of over 30,000 respondents, with the ability to capture results for specific programs. It also features insights on podcast listening across 18 podcast genres, over 2,000 retail/plan-to-buy categories and hundreds of advertisers with specific brand names, such as insurance companies, automotive, quick service restaurants, home improvement retailers and more.
