                       BETA FINANCE CORPORATION

                            (the Issuer)

                            CHF100,000,000
                         2% Fixed Rate Notes
                         due 27 November 2002

                              (the Notes) 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Condition 8(a) of the Terms and
Conditions of the Notes (the Conditions) and Clause 15.03 of the amended and
restated Fiscal Agency Agreement dated 23 June 1999, between the Issuer,
Citibank, N.A. and Banque Internationale a Luxembourg societe anonyme, the
Issuer, with the approval of the Fiscal Agent, has appointed UBS AG of P.O.
Box, CH-8098, Zurich, Switzerland (the Swiss principal paying Agent) to be a
Paying Agent in respect of the Notes and to perform certain obligations of the
Fiscal Agent which the Fiscal Agent, with the consent of the Issuer, has
delegated to the Swiss principal Agent.  The appointment will be effective from
and including 27 August 1998.

All expressions defined in the Conditions shall have the same meaning when used
in this Notice.
