NEW YORK, April 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Salesforce.com
Cloudforce 2 Tour -- CA, Inc. (Nasdaq: CA) today announced the
general availability of CA Agile Vision™ Team Edition, the first
native Force.com agile development planning tool, designed to
enable companies to unlock the competitive advantage of application
development management entirely in the cloud.
With CA Agile Vision, CA joins Salesforce.com® in helping
companies to realize tremendous success with cloud computing.
Announced at Dreamforce 2009, CA Agile Vision was built leveraging
salesforce.com's Force.com platform and is based on proven
technology successfully used by salesforce.com for its
industry-leading Sales and Service Cloud apps. The new offering is
being demonstrated today with an integration to salesforce.com's
Chatter for integrated social collaboration, a unique value
extension of the product that is scheduled for general availability
later this year.
"For those seeking to leverage an agile software development
process, coordinating effective project and portfolio planning and
prioritization in conjunction with a compelling SaaS solution can
enable users to quickly adopt technology as they strive to deliver
robust software releases in less time," said Melinda Ballou, program director for IDC's
Application Life-Cycle Management research. "With this new CA
offering, organizations have the opportunity to increase
collaboration across the enterprise and improve the product
development process."
With CA Agile Vision Team Edition, companies can bolster agile
planning and collaboration to realize faster, more efficient
releases. As a service delivered in the cloud, it frees teams to
concentrate on faster, more efficient application development
rather than costly and time-consuming software installation and
maintenance. Priced at $15 per user
per month, teams can purchase the product online with a credit card
and plan their first sprints in 15 minutes.
"With CA Agile Vision Team Edition, development teams across the
country or around the world have access to a cost-effective
offering they can use right away to help deliver better products to
market faster," said Brian Bell,
senior vice president and general manager of the Project and
Portfolio Management business unit at CA. "The Team Edition service
is just the beginning. We also plan to deliver comprehensive
enterprise agile management from the cloud when we bring together
CA Agile Vision with our leading solution for project and portfolio
management (PPM), CA Clarity PPM On Demand."
"Salesforce.com and CA share a similar vision for customer
success with the Cloud 2," said Kendall
Collins, chief marketing officer, salesforce.com. "As the
first native agile planning app available on Force.com, CA Agile
Vision provides customers with a solution to help them innovate in
app development faster and better than ever before by incorporating
the social features of Force.com."
CA Agile Vision is the newest solution in CA's comprehensive
portfolio of on-demand applications, including CA Clarity PPM On
Demand, CA Service Desk on Demand, and CA RMDM On Demand. To
further improve agile product development in the enterprise, CA is
planning to release an enterprise edition of CA Agile Vision that
will be integrated with CA Clarity PPM, the leading project and
portfolio management system used by more than 1,200 enterprises
worldwide to manage strategic programs and innovative new
products.
