ISLANDIA, N.Y. and WASHINGTON, April 15,
2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) today
announced its support for the National Strategy for Trusted
Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC), a White House initiative to
create an "identity ecosystem" to improve the privacy, security and
convenience of sensitive online transactions. CA Technologies
leading Identity and Access Management solutions, CA SiteMinder®,
CA Arcot WebFort® and CA Arcot RiskFort™, are part of a
multi-company, private sector demonstration being shown today at
the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with a press conference
where U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Gary Locke will release the White House National
Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace.
"Knowing and trusting the identities involved in a transaction –
whether it's business-to-consumer, business-to-business or
government-to-citizen – is critical to securing online commerce and
business enablement," said Mike
Denning, general manager, Security, CA Technologies.
"We are proud to support such an important White House effort
by providing the solutions that help authenticate an individual and
verify that a person is who they claim to be."
The following CA Technologies solutions contribute to the online
identity ecosystem:
- CA SiteMinder: a Web access management solution which
provides user authentication, policy-based authorization, single
sign-on, identity federation, and auditing for web applications. CA
SiteMinder is designed to accept standardized credentials
(including OpenID and SAML) for user authentication and
authorization, and it currently helps secure web applications for a
number U.S. federal government agencies and banks.
- CA Arcot WebFort: provides a low footprint,
cost-effective option for strong authentication with centralized
policy management. CA Arcot technology underlies the Verified by
Visa® and MasterCard® SecureCode programs, which provide millions
of consumers with an additional layer of security for online
transactions.
- CA Arcot RiskFort: supports risk-based authentication by
detecting changes in authentication behavior which might indicate
fraudulent activity. This can help relying parties (Web site or
other entity) understand when a credential has been compromised or
when additional authentication may be required in order to
establish a trustworthy identity.
In addition to its support for NSTIC, CA Technologies supports a
number of identity-related standards bodies and security
organizations with the goal of building reliable, shareable,
trusted identities, including the OpenID Foundation, Open Identity
Exchange (OIX), and the Kantara Initiative.
