On October 10, 2011, the companies announced the definitive merger agreement under which Complete Production Services would be acquired by Superior Energy Services, in a transaction valued at approximately $2.7 billion. Under the terms of the agreement, Complete Production Services stockholders will receive 0.945 common shares of Superior Energy Services (NYSE: SPN) and $7.00 in cash for each share of Complete Production Services/CPX common stock held.
