Gateway Office Park receives "Very Good" rating for environmental performance

ABLON Group Limited, a leading real estate owner and developer in Central Europe, is pleased to announce that Gateway Office Park, developed by ABLON in 2008, has now received a "Very Good" BREEAM In-Use rating.

The most widespread and widely known international qualification system, the British BREEAM (Buildings Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method), evaluates the sustainability of buildings and their environmental performance. BREEAM has examined more than 1 million buildings and issued more than 200,000 ratings during its 22 years of operation. The BREEAM In-Use system has been developed to give an independent review of the in-use environmental impact of existing buildings Environmental consciousness is an important factor, not only in everyday life, but also when it comes to planning, construction and reconstruction of buildings. As a result, designers, developers and building managers put more and more emphasis not only on the design phase, but also on building management.

Besides some Hungarian projects, only a few Polish, Czech and Lithuanian buildings have been granted BREEAM In-Use ratings in the region and, so far as we are aware, none of them has so far received such a high rating. This office building was built and is currently being managed by the ABLON group according to our own strict environmentally conscious standards and, for that reason, we are especially pleased to receive a "Very Good" rating, which gives external validation to our approach to construction management."

Energy consciousness and environmental impact over the life of the buildings were major considerations during the design, construction and building management phases of Gateway Office Park and ABLON has successfully managed to implement these principles. The responsible development approach applied by ABLON has now been recognised by this BREEAM In-Use rating.
