Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Further to the announcement on 10 November 2011, the Board of Alterian (the "Board") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Christopher John Humphrey as independent Non-Executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.

Mr. Humphrey, aged 54, is currently Chief Executive Officer of Anite Plc ("Anite"). Prior to joining Anite, he held senior positions in finance at Conoco, Eurotherm International plc and Critchley Group plc.

Commenting on the appointment, Alterian Chairman, Phil Cartmell said: "We are very pleased to confirm Chris' appointment and we are confident that Chris will prove to be a valuable addition to our Board."

Other than as set out above there are no further disclosures required pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 of the UKLA's Listing Rules.
