Bristol Water plc notes the announcement made today by Bristol Water Group plc,
the text of which is set out below.

       Recommended proposals for a return of 148 pence per Ordinary Share
                          and 10 for 13 Consolidation

Bristol Water Group plc announces that the Circular in relation to the Return of
148 pence per Ordinary Share and 10 for 13 Consolidation announced on 20 May
2005 has been posted to shareholders today.

Copies of the Circular have been submitted to the UK Listing Authority, and will
shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document
Viewing Facility, which is situated at:
