                         TV channels launched in India

Eicom plc ("Eicom" or "the Company") announces that it has reached agreement
with the Indian satellite network, Dish TV, over the transmission in India, of
Performance Channel and its science and technology channel. The latter will be
broadcast under the brand name SciTech TV.

Owned by the Essel Group, which also owns the market leading Zee TV Network,
Dish TV has more than 400,000 subscribers to its satellite service in India and
has informed the Company that it is currently attracting 1,500 new subscribers
per day.

Under the terms of the agreement, Performance Channel will receive US$0.07 per
subscribing home per month in an English language premium package. SciTech TV
will be broadcast in Hindi, Tamil and English language versions on Dish TV's
main platform, thereby ensuring access to all Dish TV's connected homes. The
subscription level for SciTech TV will be set after pricing trials. A further
announcement will be made on completion of these trials.

will give an immediate contribution to revenues and steady sales growth is
expected as the Indian platform increases its subscriber base. For the past 23
years India's GDP has grown at an average annual rate of 6%, making it one of
the fastest-growing economies in the world and with its vibrant and thriving
television market there is obviously huge potential for Eicom's channels.

"The agreement demonstrates the quality of our channel offerings and we intend
to enhance this by adding additional channels, which will have the added benefit
of defraying our mainly fixed overhead cost base."

Performance Channel is currently broadcast in several territories in Europe
including the UK, on Sky and Telewest, Germany on KBW, Netherlands on Casema and
Essent and in Hungary on Optosat and Satimex.
