                              HARTEST HOLDINGS PLC 
                          ("Hartest" or the "Company") 
                            Appointment of Chairman 
 
Further to the announcement made today by Elektron plc ("Elektron") that the 
offer, by Elektron for the shares of Hartest (the "Offer") has closed, Hartest 
is pleased to announce the appointment of Keith Daley as Chairman of the board 
with immediate effect.  Keith Daley will replace David Leeming who has stepped 
down from the board with immediate effect. 
Keith Daley will combine this role with his role as Chairman of Elektron plc. 
The Company also announces that, following his appointment as Group Finance 
Director of Elektron, Geoff Spink has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer of 
Hartest with immediate effect but will remain as a non-executive director. 
 
Commenting, Keith Daley, Chairman, said:
