Metnor announces that on 7 May 2008, it purchased 37,000 of its own 1p Ordinary
Shares and these shares will be held as treasury shares. The average price paid
was 165.09 pence.

Following the above purchase, the Company holds 37,000 Ordinary Shares as
treasury shares. The total number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding shares
held as treasury shares) is 15,441,141.
