                             AGM Trading Statement

Punch Graphix plc ("Punch Graphix" or the "Company"), the digital and pre-press
printing systems group, holds its first Annual General Meeting today. At the
meeting, Geoffrey White, the Chairman, will make the following comments on
current trading:

"Punch Graphix has enjoyed a positive start to the current financial year, and
is performing in line with the expectations as set out at the time of the
preliminary results announcement on 21 March 2006.

"In pre-press solutions, basysPrint has continued to enjoy strong growth,
particularly in Asia and Latin America, as a result of its unique position in
the market for CTP equipment for UV-sensitive plates. The product range has been
extended with a 6-up machine that was launched at IPEX (the International Print
Exhibition, Birmingham, UK) in April 2006. Deliveries through our OEM supplier
agreement with Agfa also remain strong.

"In digital printing solutions, the flagship product Xeikon 5000 has made new
inroads in the large volume personalized direct mail market. The versatility and
open structure of the X-800 front-end and workflow interface tool is proving to
be a particularly powerful proposition. The total solution set-ups, as
demonstrated on the IPEX booth for booklets and transactional applications, as
well as the label and textile capabilities that were demonstrated, generated
substantial interest. This was also the case at the "On Demand" exhibition in
Philadelphia.

"We have continued to strengthen our operational management team. Most recently,
Patrick Canavan assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of our
North American operations. Patrick joined us from LG.Philips where he was the
President of the company's USA entity and Sales Director covering North and
South America.

"Our production platform in China, which in time will provide a low cost
manufacturing base for a range of our products, will come on stream in the
coming months, with first deliveries in the second half of 2006.

"A direct sales presence was created in China, Brazil and Canada in late 2005.
We are optimistic about the progress that will be made in further expanding our
presence in these markets this year, and indeed in maintaining and expanding our
installed base across our range of products in all markets."

Punch Graphix's interim results for the six months to 30 June 2006 will be
announced in September 2006. At this time, Ben Van Assche, who was appointed
Chief Executive Officer in April 2006, will provide his views on the continuing
opportunities available to the Company.
