                              RECOVERY TRUST PLC                               

The Company announces that all the zero dividend preference shares ("ZDPs") in
issue will be redeemed at close of business today for their full entitlement of
167.74p per share. Cheques are expected to be dispatched to shareholders
holding ZDPs in certificated form on 13 August 2007 and CREST accounts credited
of those shareholders holding ZDPs in uncertificated form on 13 August 2007.
