                        Resignation of Managing Director



The Board of Directors of South China Resources PLC (the "Company") announces
the resignation of Mr. Steve Leithead as Managing Director of the Company with
effect from 12 March 2007.



Alastair Clayton said that "over the last 2 years, Steve has committed himself
fully to establishing the company in China and now leaves the company as it
seeks to transition to its next stage of growth".



Steve Leithead leaves the company to pursue other business opportunities in the
resources sector.



The Board of Directors would like to record its appreciation to Mr. Leithead for
his significant contributions to the Company during his appointment term and
wishes him well in his future endeavours.
