Appointment of New Non-Executive Chairman

Further to the announcement on 22 February 2013 of the intended retirement of Malcolm Harris, the Board of Bovis Homes Group PLC is pleased to announce that Ian Tyler will be appointed non-executive Chairman of the Company with effect from 29 November 2013, on which date Malcolm will retire. Ian will also be a member and Chairman of the Nomination Committee.

Ian Tyler has over twenty years' experience in construction and related industries and was Chief Executive of Balfour Beatty plc from 2005 until March 2013. During this period he developed the company from being primarily a UK construction business to a global infrastructure services business with revenue of GBP10.9 billion.

Ian is currently a non-executive director of BAE Systems plc, a non-executive director and Chairman of the audit committee of Cable & Wireless Communications Plc, non-executive Chairman of Al Noor Hospitals Group Plc and a non-executive director of Cairn Energy PLC.

Alastair Lyons, non-executive Deputy Chairman, who led the process of selecting a successor to Malcolm Harris, said:

Ian was a non-executive director of VT Group plc from 2008 to 2010. There is no other information to be disclosed pursuant to LR 9.6.13R in respect of Ian Tyler. As at the date of this announcement, Ian has no beneficial interests in the ordinary shares of the Company.
