FALL RIVER, Mass., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- On February 12, 2007 The Genlyte Group Incorporated ("Genlyte") announced a patent infringement court victory against Arch Lighting Group ("ALG") and its Arch Lighting Systems ("ALS") Division of Taunton, MA. Specifically, Genlyte announced that the United States District Court of Massachusetts entered a judgment that the ALS line of MulTmed products was found to have infringed the "Integrated Medical Lighting System" patent of Genlyte's Lightolier Division. However, the jury verdict and court judgment of infringement only included the ALS MulTmed MT2A, MT2B and MT1D products. The Court awarded damages and interest to Genlyte for past sales by ALS of infringing MulTmed products in the amount of $238 thousand, and also required ALS to pay Genlyte a per fixture royalty of $67 per infringing product sold since September 30, 2006. In addition, the Court enjoined ALS from making, using, selling, offering for sale or importing any further MulTmed products.
