ThinkGeek Guitar Shirt Video Contest Winners 'Pick'd'
20 Aprile 2010 - 9:00PM
Online retailer ThinkGeek, a Geeknet (Nasdaq:LNUX) company, today
announced the winners of its Electronic Rock Guitar Shirt Video
Contest. The contest, launched in December 2009, gave thousands of
customers and fans a chance at instant fame and fun prizes.
ThinkGeek and guest judges from Neversoft Entertainment, developers
of
Guitar Hero®, selected the final winning videos from
submissions created by rock n' roll fans of all ages.
The winning entry came from Eric Morrison, whose video features
a rocker being catapulted into the sky after one forceful strum of
the Electronic Rock Guitar Shirt. Morrison won a Band
Hero™ Band Kit, complete with the Band Hero game,
guitar, microphone and drum kit controllers, as well as a $500
ThinkGeek shopping spree.
"Morrison's video was over the top rock n' roll," said Ty
Liotta, Senior Merchandiser and Manager of ThinkGeek's GeekLabs.
"Our fans' enthusiasm for interactive products like the Electronic
Rock Guitar Shirt is what inspires us to create more unique and
exclusive ThinkGeek products year after year."
Second place went to the band The Stormtroopers. Through the
magic of video editing, the young man in the video was able to
simultaneously play both the drum set and the Electronic Rock
Guitar Shirt. Third place went to Jon Baker's band for the video of
their original song "Step Back," about the rock star lifestyle that
results from wearing the shirt.
"Everyone who participated should be proud," said Caroline
Offutt, President and General Manager of ThinkGeek. "Seeing our
fans work this hard is inspiring and reinforces our drive to create
more innovative products like the Electronic Rock Guitar
Shirt."
