FAIRMONT, W.Va., March 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Beginning
today, MVB Bank is asking an important question on the air waves
and in print to bank clients and communities in the five
West Virginia counties where it
operates: "Do you Kasasa?"
MVB Bank is the first financial institution in West Virginia to launch Kasasa banking
accounts. Offering Kasasa Cash® and Kasasa Saver®, the MVB Bank
team is proud to be the first in West
Virginia to launch the most innovative checking and savings
accounts on the market. "Do You Kasasa?" is the main message in the
new ads promoting MVB's best checking and savings
accounts.
Kasasa® (pronounced Kah-sah-sah) is a new brand of free checking
and savings accounts that pays consumers to use their account with
either high interest or automatic savings. These accounts, combined
with the personal service delivered by a hometown bank are offering
residents a better checking account option, and without any hidden
fees.
The difference between MVB's Kasasa account and accounts offered
by other banks is simple: Kasasa accounts have no monthly
service fees and offer consumers high interest and rewards. MVB's
Kasasa Cash account currently earns up to 2.0% annual percentage
yield (APY), compared to just 0.05% APY at many other financial
institutions, free online banking, nationwide ATM fee refunds and
e-banking statements for convenience. For Kasasa Saver
accounts, consumers can earn up to 1.0% APY.
"We are pleased to be the first bank in West Virginia to promote the Kasasa brand of
checking and savings accounts," said Larry
F. Mazza, CEO of MVB Financial Corp. "Kasasa delivers
what research shows people really want but believe they can't
have—great financial products with the personal service of a
community based financial institution."
To receive the Kasasa account benefits, each monthly
qualification cycle, account holders are asked to do a few simple
things like, receive an eStatement, use a debit card a minimum
number of times, and have an electronic transaction (such as direct
deposit) post to their account. If an account holder does not meet
the qualifications in a given month, MVB Bank will alert the
individual, who will be eligible the following month for the
benefits.
In 2009, Kasasa accounts were piloted in six other markets
across the U.S. In just the first two months of offering
Kasasa, participating community financial institutions reported
increases in new account openings and growth in deposits at
institutions focused on deposit growth.
Kasasa is being introduced in West
Virginia with a creative and highly engaging marketing
campaign. It comes to life through a fresh mix of eye-popping
newspaper advertisements and a series of television spots that
feature top 'slam poets' riffing lyrical threads around the theme
of 'Do you Kasasa?' To preview the advertising, go to

Kasasa is distributed to MVB Bank from BancVue, the leading
provider of innovative products, dynamic marketing, and data-driven
consulting solutions to community financial institutions nationwide
