Maggiano's Little Italy Opens in Troy TROY, Mich., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Maggiano's Little Italy, one of the liveliest authentic Italian restaurants, brings its grand celebration of food to Troy when it opens September 30 just east of the Somerset Collection on Big Beaver Road. Reminiscent of a pre-World War II New York supper club, Maggiano's Little Italy is a love affair between all that is American and all that is Italian. From traditional Southern Italian appetizers, to authentic pasta and sauces, to prime steaks and seafood, it's all made from scratch. The Troy restaurant boasts a large dining room and piano bar, as well as a unique rotunda off the bar for dining and private parties. Swiss-born Executive Chef Peter Haubi worked as a chef around the world and at The White House in Washington, D.C. Trained in Switzerland, Haubi's experience has taken him to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, India, Corsica, Argentina, Panama and Canada. He began his career with Maggiano's in Chicago, Ill., in 2002. Maggiano's Little Italy serves lavish platters of such Southern Italian favorites as Roast Chicken with Rosemary and Garlic, Medallions of Beef, Portabella Mushrooms and Garlic-Mashed Potatoes, Angel Hair Shrimp al Arrabiata, freshmade Gnocchi with Tomato Vodka Sauce and a signature dish, Rigatoni D(R) with Chicken, Mushrooms and Marsala Sauce. Chocolate Zuccotto Cake and Nonna's Pound Cake are just two of the decadent desserts. The 13,800-square-foot facility features a 320-seat restaurant and three private dining rooms that will accommodate an additional 130 people. Maggiano's specializes in hosting large parties and corporate events for 20 to 130 people. The Troy restaurant offers a separate entrance for the private dining rooms. Private dining sales manager is Jodi Felice, who was director of catering for Service Systems Associates at the Detroit Zoo. Area director is Tony Persichetti. Spacious and comfortable, Maggiano's features rich dark wood, black leather booths, classic red-checkered tablecloths and black-and-white mosaic tile floors. Live entertainment is offered five nights a week in the piano bar, which features a baby grand piano, an extensive wine selection and seasonal martinis. Complimentary valet parking is available daily for lunch and dinner. Lunch prices range from $9 - $13. Dinner prices range from $18 - $25. Most menu items are available for carryout.
